Of course Akerlof and Kranton have done more together since, but this was the start of it and since Akerlof used it as a basis for his <a href="http://www.aeaweb.org/annual_mtg_papers/2007/0106_1640_0101.pdf" rel="nofollow">call for social norms in Macro</a> two years ago, I figured it was worth reading. I’m not claiming that it’s massively new, just that – even nine years after it was published – there’s not really all that much else like it in Economics.

Of course Akerlof and Kranton have done more together since, but this was the start of it and since Akerlof used it as a basis for his call for social norms in Macro two years ago, I figured it was worth reading.
